Keep the Facts, Let Go of The Pain

Accelerated Resolution Therapy

Start Being the Mom You’re Meant to Be (in 1-5 sessions) Without Your Past Getting in the Way

ADJUNCT | INTENSIVES | SHORT TERM TRAUMA THERAPY

Motherhood hasn’t been the blissful journey you thought it would be.

Some of it is just the stress and weight of trying to raise a human being and keep them alive. It’s so much rougher than you could ever explain to someone who hasn’t experienced it.

But you suspect that it could be easier.

What if trauma is getting in the way of being a “good” mom

It’s possible that some of what makes this difficult is the fallout from negative experiences you had in the past.

Those negative or maybe traumatic experiences might be;

  • how you were raised

  • your relationship with your parents

  • negative childhood/teen experiences

  • medical procedures

  • past relationship issues

  • school bullying

  • Abuse of any kind

  • single incident traumas (car accidents, natural disasters)

  • Even watching your child or someone else experience a “trauma.”

It doesn’t matter if it was abuse or just negative experiences that have followed you.

You find yourself having flashes of memories or other sensory experiences around things like;

  • The amount of care you give your child (because you never received that level of care)

  • Watching your child have normal childhood experiences (you have negative memories associated with them)

  • Traumatic memories you experienced at the same age your child is now

Being a mom has brought up all the places in your life and childhood where adults failed you, and it’s getting in the way of your staying present for your child.

You know all of the skills.

You should be able to be that mom you dreamt you would be.

You’ve processed all of this in talk therapy for years. But you still catch yourself yelling or shutting down over little things.

Accelerated Resolution Therapy quickly resolves past memories so you can be in the moment, not the past

You want to be able to be the parent you know you are meant to be. The fear of looking back and having regrets or seeing that you passed down your trauma is intense.

You know that parenting will always be hard, but you still want to know you’re doing the best you can.

You want to feel calm and present. To be able to really relax and enjoy the good parts of being a mom. You want to allow your child to be who they are without having flashes of yourself when you were their age.

You want to feel like your past doesn’t rule your world, and who you are as a mom.

You want all of this without talking about it with a therapist for years, because time is passing, and things need to get better now, not 2 years from now.

Accelerated Resolution Therapy Helps Resolve Traumatic Memories in 1-5 sessions

Accelerated Resolution Therapy, also called ART, allows you to keep the memories but greatly lowers or gets rid of the emotional responses to incidents that may have happened in your past.

Those incidents that have haunted you. Those scenes that replay themselves in your head over and over.

After ART sessions, most of my clients look back and realize that they still remember the traumatic or negative events. But they’re just like their other memories. They no longer stick out as horrible things that happened to them, with all of the associated negative feelings and dysregulation attached.

Most clients report that within a couple of sessions, they respond to what was previously a trigger as if it’s no longer a big deal. They no longer feel overwhelmed or flooded by the body activation that happens when they’re remembering a negative experience.

This impacts their ability to parent. They can be more present with their child. They lose their temper less. They feel like they’re more in control and better able to utilize the parenting skills they’ve learned in therapy.

Because often when we struggle as a parent, it isn’t because we don’t know the skills, it’s because our past is getting in the way

Frequently Asked Questions

  • I set aside 90 minutes to 2 hours for your ART session so that you don’t feel rushed and get the full results from your session. ART sessions are $495 dollars.

  • The research conducted on ART has shown that, on average, most people only need between 1 and 5 sessions to feel better. Of course, this is individual to each person and each case.

  • I do Art both in person and remotely. My weekday appointments are all through a secure telehealth network, and one Saturday a month, I have the option of in-person appointments available in Roseville, California.

  • Unfortunately, because ART sessions often last an hour and a half to 2 hours, insurance will not pay for these sessions.

  • The current research shows that for diagnosed PTSD, Anxiety, and Depression, the success rate is between 61-80%, and that the completion rate is close to 90% because ART does not require talking about your problem or what happened to be successful.
