CAREGIVER & PARENT SUPPORT GROUP

Beyond Surviving

An online parent support group for those parenting neurodivergent individuals to help them go from isolated, overwhelmed and confused to connected, confident and calm without giving up time with their child.

Common Experiences Among Parents and Caregivers

When it comes to caring for your neurodivergent or autistic child…

  • You feel constant anxiety and stress trying to figure out what is going to upset them and what might cause a bad day.

  • Understanding what is going on in their mind feels overwhelming

  • Sometimes they have very strong feelings and you feel helpless to be able to do anything

When it comes to other people…

  • It’s hard to stomach the looks they give you and your child in public when your child is struggling

  • Relatives and even other parents try to convince you that your kid is just “spoiled”

  • Other people don’t understand your child and try to blame the hard times your child has on you, or on who your child is as a person.

How you, as a parent feel…

  • Worried about what the future will bring for your child even when things are going well

  • Alone and isolated because no one seems to understand

  • Desperate to be able to cope better so that you can be there for your family
